Middle School (5th – 8th)

In the logic stage of the Trivium, students develop critical thinking skills, logical reasoning, and the ability to analyze and evaluate information. At Trinity, we recognize the significance of this stage as it equips students with the tools to navigate complex subjects, make connections, and form coherent arguments. By engaging in rigorous discussions, debates, and Socratic questioning, students learn to think independently, develop a deep understanding of various disciplines, and cultivate a discerning mindset. Through the classical approach, your child will gain the ability to think critically, approach challenges with logical reasoning, and develop a solid foundation for academic excellence and personal growth, guided by Christian values and principles.

Logic Stage Goals:
  • Master formal logic.
  • Apply the scientific method in research, hypothesis, experimentation, and reporting.
  • Recognize patterns and natural order in music, math, grammar, writing, languages and art.
  • Engage in comparative analysis across subjects.
  • Critically evaluate information and ideas, weighing evidence and assessing arguments.
  • Interact with original texts to grasp historical, literary, and scientific insights.
  • Explore diverse art, mathematical, and writing techniques through experimentation.
  • Develop strong abstract thinking abilities.
  • Transition from passive information collection to active knowledge interaction.
  • Cultivate effective oral presentation and persuasive skills.
